Industrial parks in Ukraine received almost a billion hryvnias in financing last year

Industrial parks are an important tool for stimulating economic development, attracting investments and creating jobs. They are specially designated areas with developed infrastructure, intended for the placement of industrial enterprises and other objects of economic activity.
Industrial parks in Ukraine operate on the basis of the Law "On Industrial Parks", adopted in 2012. In 2022, the legislation underwent changes that provide additional incentives for participants in industrial parks, in particular tax holidays and compensation for credit rates.
The first attempts to create industrial parks in Ukraine began back in the 1990s, when individual regions, taking into account successful international experience, initiated the creation of such parks in their territories.
Currently, industrial parks in Ukraine are located in many regions, creating «points of economic growth» in the regions of the country. According to the updated catalog of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the list includes 100 facilities located in 20 regions of Ukraine. And their creation, even during the war, has significant support.
«Despite all the challenges, Ukraine creates favorable conditions for investors. 100 industrial parks have already been registered in different regions. 13 applicants received financing on accounts in the amount of UAH 925.05 million. Participants of industrial parks have the opportunity to take advantage of the following benefits: exemption from VAT on equipment imports, 10-year exemption from income tax subject to reinvestment, as well as reduced rates on land and real estate,” said the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
These funds can be spent on three items: construction of networks and infrastructure of industrial parks (up to UAH 150 million per industrial park); compensation for costs of designing and obtaining technical conditions for networks and infrastructure; compensation for interest on loans taken for the development or construction of industrial parks.
Geography and specialization
Most industrial parks are located in the central and western regions. They specialize in mechanical engineering, the production of building materials, agricultural processing and the IT sector. Some parks also develop alternative energy, creating conditions for the production of solar panels, batteries and other environmentally friendly equipment.

Industrial parks play a key role in the recovery of the economy after the war, contributing to the creation of new jobs, the development of regions and attracting investment. They allow small and medium-sized businesses to integrate into the production chains of large companies, which stimulates industrial development. In the future, it is planned to expand the network of parks, attract international investors and develop high-tech industries.
