Community residents will now be able to influence the redistribution of local budgets
Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the Law of Ukraine No. 3703-IX, which introduces several effective tools of local democracy.
❗️Next, we will talk about the main changes and how the "Agency for Territorial Development" can help to effectively process them, since from now on, charters for territorial communities are mandatory, and we know how to create them carefully and in compliance with the requirements.
✅ This draft law is one of the key ones for supporting decentralization processes in Ukraine. It opens up new opportunities for community residents to participate in solving community life issues.
In particular, the following means of influence are provided:
• public consultations;
• public discussions;
• general meetings;
• participation in the formation and distribution of the local budget.
New approaches are aimed at involving residents in:
• planning and distribution of local budget funds;
• holding public consultations;
• activities of advisory and consultative bodies under local government bodies.
The law also includes a number of other important norms that will contribute to the transparency and efficiency of local government. (We will leave a link to the news, where you can find out the details, in the comments).
«The Territorial Development Agency» offers the development of charters of territorial communities «on a turnkey basis», taking into account all legislative changes and the needs of the community.
The charter – is the main document that regulates the life and development of the local community. It is created taking into account the historical, national, cultural and socio-economic characteristics of each settlement.
In fact, it is a legal foundation that determines how local authorities should function, interact with the community and achieve common goals.
We also have experience and resources for:
• organizing consultations;
• preparing documentation;
• budget planning processes.
Our approach is based on creating the most effective solutions that will allow residents to participate more actively in the life of their community, and local authorities to increase transparency and trust.
